We are introducing The Studio C-41 “One-on-One” interview series! After reading PetaPixel article, ‘For the Love of Film‘,  Bill Manning reaches out to UK freelance photographer, Tim Gander, to discuss his return to shooting film.

Tim Gander, a freelance photojournalist in the UK, discusses his history shooting film at the dawn of digital cameras entering the photojournalism arena. Tim beat out his competitors by getting his shots published first after making the early jump to digital.

In the recording, Tim tells the story of beating other photographers to print when he adopted to digital cameras before other photojournalists made the switch from film.

In the recording, Tim, talks about taking this picture with Kodak TMAX P3200 and exposing the image and rating it at ISO 25,000. “The only light I had were the emergency vehicle lights, headlights, and my flash.”

Tim now shoots film for his personal projects which can be found on his website. Tim’s current project documents the people of Saxonvale, Frome, UK and their lifestyle. Much of his current work can be found on Instagram.
